The 'Moneymaker' tomato lives up to its name and is the absolute epitome of a high-yielding, robust, classic salad tomato. This proven, open-pollinated variety tirelessly produces large quantities of flawless, round, bright red fruits. It is particularly characterized by its high reliability, its resistance to fluctuating weather conditions, and its classic, balanced tomato flavor. For gardeners looking for an uncomplicated variety with a guaranteed rich harvest, it has been the first choice for decades.

Growth habit, location, and care:
The 'Moneymaker' is an extremely vigorous, indeterminate cordon tomato that easily reaches heights of 1.50 to 2.00 meters. It requires a stable support (plant stake or string) and must be regularly pruned (pinched out) to maximize the harvest. It is best grown with one or two stems. A great advantage of this variety is its enormous adaptability: it thrives excellently in the full sun outdoors, but also produces top yields in the greenhouse or in large containers on the balcony. As a heavy feeder, it requires nutrient-rich, humus-heavy soil. A good base fertilization with compost and regular applications of a potassium-rich tomato fertilizer from the start of flowering ensure long-lasting vitality.

Harvest and use:
The fruits are classic, medium-sized salad tomatoes weighing about 80 to 100 grams. They ripen in beautiful, uniform clusters, are crack-resistant, and have a pleasantly thin skin. In terms of taste, they offer the perfect, traditional tomato aroma with a harmonious balance of sweetness and refreshing acidity. Due to its uniform shape and classic taste, the 'Moneymaker' is a true all-rounder in the kitchen: perfect for fresh salads, on bread, for canning, or as a solid base for sauces and soups.

Origin:
This variety is a true historical milestone. It was bred in 1913 in Bristol, England, by F. Stonor. Because of its unparalleled yield strength and the visual perfection of the fruits, it quickly became the most profitable and popular variety in commercial cultivation – which earned it the fitting name 'Moneymaker'. Today, it is one of the best-known open-pollinated standard varieties for the home garden worldwide.
