A little piece of calm for your pocket! These round soapstone worry stones feel simply wonderful in the palm of your hand. They glow in vibrant, lightly mottled colors such as warm yellow, deep red, soothing blue, and fresh green. The flat stones are decorated with a fine, hand-painted pattern: from a small spiral in the center, small teardrop shapes radiate outward like a sun or an opening blossom, filled with delicate color accents in light blue or pink.

Each of these small works of art is formed, gently rounded, and lovingly painted by hand in Kenya with great care and craftsmanship from natural soapstone. This traditional handiwork makes every worry stone an absolute one-of-a-kind piece. When everyday life gets a bit hectic, it is wonderfully calming to hold such a smooth stone in your hand and trace the fine lines with your thumb.
I have added these lovely companions to my shop because they radiate exactly the kind of positive energy and grounding that we all need from time to time. They make a wonderful little gift to simply send someone a bit of strength or to bring them a little joy. And, of course, they also look great as colorful little lucky charms on the windowsill, right next to your seed starter pots or favorite rare plants!
The soapstone products come from Tabaka, Kenya, a town with approx. 10,000 inhabitants located about 25 km from Kisii. Soapstone (steatite) is a soft natural stone. The color of the stones varies between white, gray, yellow, and reddish tones, sometimes streaked with beautiful veins. The raw material is mined locally in quarries. The carvers are independent artists who each specialize in a specific product area. Tools used include chisels, knives, scrapers, and sandpaper. The fine sanding, washing of the stone, waxing, and polishing are usually then carried out by women in the family. The 100% hand-crafted nature of the product results in variations in shape and color.
