A majestic symbol of happiness, strength, and wisdom! An elephant with its trunk raised is considered a classic good luck charm worldwide and simultaneously radiates an unwavering, grounding calm.

This expressive sculpture wonderfully captures the animal's powerful stature: the trunk rises elegantly into the air, flanked directly by finely crafted, curved tusks. As the soapstone remains completely natural here, the smoothly polished surface reveals the pure beauty of the material. The soft, cream-colored to light-gray base tone is traversed by striking, fine dark veins and a fascinating reddish-brown marbling on the front leg. Each of these animals is lovingly hand-carved in Kenya and refined with details such as large ears and delicate skin folds on the trunk. Due to the individual whims of nature in the stone structure, every sculpture is an absolute, unmistakable one-of-a-kind piece.

Such an expressive symbol of nature immediately captivated me, which is why I have gladly given this pachyderm a place in my small collection. It makes a fantastic, meaningful gift to wish someone a great deal of happiness and stability. And strictly between us plant lovers: as a proud, silent guardian next to the large, sweeping leaves of your favorite houseplants or watching over your most precious seed trays, this gentle giant unfolds a particularly harmonious effect!

The soapstone products come from Tabaka, Kenya, a town with about 10,000 inhabitants located about 25km from Kisii. Soapstone (steatite) is a soft natural stone. The color of the stones varies between white, gray, yellow, and reddish tones, sometimes traversed by beautiful marbling. The raw material is extracted locally in quarries. The carvers are independent artists who each specialize in a specific product range. Tools used include chisels, knives, scrapers, and sandpaper. The fine finishing, washing of the stone, waxing, and polishing are usually carried out by women in the family. The 100% handmade process accounts for the variations in shape and color.
