A beautiful symbol of perfect balance and inner harmony. When brought together, this two-piece, smoothly polished soapstone tealight holder forms a circle and depicts the ancient Yin and Yang symbol. The symbol reminds us that apparent opposites in nature—such as light and shadow, day and night, or rest and growth—are deeply connected and keep each other in balance.

Included: One tealight holder consisting of two pieces. Tealights included

The holder consists of two gently curved, interlocking halves, each with a perfectly sized space for a classic tealight. As the soapstone is left completely natural and unpainted, the material reveals its pure magic: its beautiful earthy hues range from soft beige to warm yellow, streaked with reddish-brown and purple veining. Since nature gives every stone its own unique color and texture, each of these lovingly hand-carved pieces from Kenya is truly one of a kind.

A true treasure close to my heart that I simply had to share with you! This holder radiates such a wonderfully grounding, peaceful calm. Light the two candles in the evening, and it fills the room with a warm, cozy glow—perfect for unwinding after a day spent tending to your plants or mixing up new potting mixes. It makes a meaningful, balancing gift for someone special or a harmonious focal point in your own home. A wonderful natural work of art that also looks lovely alongside the lush leaves of your exotic houseplants!

The soapstone products come from Tabaka, Kenya, a town of around 10,000 people about 25 km from Kisii. Soapstone (steatite) is a soft natural stone. Its colors range from white, gray, and yellow to reddish hues, sometimes with beautiful veining. The raw material is quarried locally. The carvers are independent artists, each specializing in a particular type of product. They use chisels, knives, scrapers, and sandpaper. The final sanding, washing, waxing, and polishing are usually done by women in the family. The fact that each piece is 100% handmade accounts for variations in shape and color.
