Owls are fascinating animals and have always been considered a symbol of wisdom, protection, and inner peace. These droll little owl figurines bring that exact relaxed, observant presence directly into your home. They shine in beautiful, warm, and slightly mottled shades such as vibrant yellow, earthy orange, and rich red.

Scope of delivery: One figurine each

🎁 Also suitable: Hand-stitched fair-trade fabric bags from India for gift wrapping. To the product...

What makes these figurines so special are the lovingly crafted details: with their large, attentive eyes, small beak, and fine, hand-worked patterns hinting at plumage, you will instantly take them into your heart. Their compact, gently rounded shape also makes them wonderful to hold.

Each of these little owls is crafted in Kenya with great dedication and skilled workmanship from natural soapstone and then painted. This traditional handicraft makes every bird an absolutely unmistakable unique piece with its very own charming character.

I have added these little guardians of the night to my shop because they are simply irresistible and bring a little more coziness to any room. They make a thoughtful gift for a loved one or a wise little companion for yourself. A small decorating tip: these little owls feel particularly at home tucked between the pots of your favorite houseplants or keeping a watchful eye next to your most precious rare seeds!

The soapstone products come from Tabaka, Kenya, a town of approximately 10,000 inhabitants located about 25km from Kisii. Soapstone (steatite) is a soft natural stone. The color of the stones varies between white, gray, yellow, and reddish tones, sometimes streaked with beautiful veining. The raw material is mined locally in quarries. The carvers are independent artists who each specialize in a specific product range. Tools used include chisels, knives, scrapers, and sandpaper. Fine finishing, washing the stone, waxing, and polishing are then usually carried out by women in the family. The 100% manual production accounts for the differences in shape and color.
