A majestic emblem of happiness, strength, and wisdom! An elephant with its trunk raised upwards is considered a classic good luck charm worldwide and simultaneously radiates an unwavering, grounding sense of calm.

This expressive sculpture beautifully captures the animal's powerful stature: the trunk rises elegantly into the air, directly flanked by the finely crafted, curved tusks. Since the soapstone is left completely natural here, the smoothly polished surface reveals the pure beauty of the material. The soft, cream to light-gray base tone is streaked with striking, fine dark veins and a fascinating reddish-brown marbling on the front leg. Each of these animals is lovingly hand-carved in Kenya and refined with details such as large ears and fine skin folds on the trunk. Due to the individual whims of nature in the stone structure, every sculpture is an absolute, unmistakable one-of-a-kind piece.

Such an expressive symbol of nature captured me instantly, which is why I have confidently made a place for this pachyderm in my small selection. It is a fantastic, meaningful gift to wish someone a large portion of happiness and stability. And between us plant lovers: as a proud, silent guardian beside the large, spreading leaves of your favorite houseplants or watching over your most precious seed trays, this gentle giant creates a particularly harmonious effect!

The soapstone products come from Tabaka, Kenya, a town with approx. 10,000 inhabitants located about 25 km from Kisii. Soapstone (steatite) is a soft natural stone. The color of the stones varies between white, gray, yellow, and reddish tones, sometimes streaked with beautiful marbling. The raw material is extracted locally in quarries. The carvers are independent artists who specialize in a specific product category. Tools used include chisels, knives, scrapers, and sandpaper. The fine-tuning, washing of the stone, waxing, and polishing are then usually carried out by women from the family. The 100% manual labor accounts for differences in shape and color.
