All parts of the plant (especially the seeds) are \u003cb data-path-to-node=\"10\" data-index-in-node=\"140\"\u003etoxic\u003c\/b\u003e and contain, among other things, the alkaloid magnoflorine and cyanogenic glycosides. The plant is therefore purely ornamental and absolutely not suitable for consumption!
